GPS Tour Monitoring System: Why Do You Need One?

If you aim to provide better services to your customers and ease the way you manage your security operations, installing a security patrol solution is not enough. Your security guard patrol app should be equipped with GPS Tour Monitoring System. This additional feature can do wonders to enhance reliability, increase efficiency and improve safety level as a whole.

A GPS Tour System allows you to manage security guards at the remote site to ensure they are following patrol schedules and are safe. In case you are looking to install a GPS Tour Monitoring System for the very first time, you may come across two types available- one installed in the vehicle and the other one which can be used on a smartphone app. Always opt for the second option, it makes sure that your security guard is trackable even if he is not in or near his vehicle.

Now let’s dig in deeper to know why your security patrol solution should also provide GPS Tour Monitoring System:

Location Mapping:
A GPS enabled security patrol app lets you keep eyes on your security guards as they move about your facility in real-time to make sure the scheduled patrols are executed and there are no deviations. The security manager can identify each security guard’s onsite movement while they are logged into the mobile app. To ensure that there is no compromise with the privacy of the security guard, after logging out the app does not track the guard’s location which is mandatory for legal compliance.

Address Accountability Among Security Guards:
A GPS Monitoring Tour System gives the administrator the power to check if the security guard had actually visited the site. When a security guard is aware how the system works, there are minimum chances of flouting the patrols. He is motivated to show up on time. The data for a particular period can be stored and extracted in form of charts, making performance analysis easier.

Enhanced Reliability For The Clients:
Often clients complain about lack of information regarding their site patrols. With a GPS Tour system, this won’t be the case anymore. The clients can easily check the entire day’s activity of your security guard by viewing the track history. The GPS data can prove useful for audits, legal matters or investigations This brings transparency helping your business retain and gain more clients.

Efficiently Manage Resources:
On-site, the security guards are often alone and may encounter disruptions wherein external aid may be required. A GPS Monitoring System allows the dispatcher to view the status of all the security guards present in the proximity, their availability and estimated drive times to incidents. They may be summoned to the rescue using the app in real-time instead of struggling with phone calls. A GPS enabled system can be used to efficiently dispatch resources based on GPS data.

Security Guard’s Safety:
The security guard’s safety is as important as safeguarding the client’s property. On-site there are always chances of potentially dangerous situations like break-ins, theft, trespassing or fire. Even if the guard misses out on informing the control authority of the incident, help can be provided based on his location tracked through the GPS. It is easy to identify and direct the resources to the right target location saving you from legal issues.

A GPS Tour Monitoring System is the core of any advanced security patrol solution. It is a feature that cannot be ignored. Guardso believes in leveling up to meet the requirements of the security companies so that they can serve clients better. We are therefore coming up with the GPS feature in our app along with QR code system that we presently use. Guardso makes it easy for you to track your security officers and ensure that the clients’ facility and the security force is always protected.

I am myself a security manager and I understand how useful it can be to have a security patrol app with a GPS monitoring system. It cuts the need of assumptions and you always have hard facts at hand about the activities on site. I totally recommend to look for the feature whenever anyone is looking for upgrading or buying a patrol tour app.

I remember you had done a complete article listing out the best features to look out in a security patrol app. I like how you have cared to pick up and explain thoroughly a single feature this time. Looking forward to your next article soon.

I was doing some research about the different GPS devices I can use for my guards. I came across the one fixed in the vehicle and the one which is installed in the app. I was not sure about which would be more useful. But I guess I am pretty clear here that second option would be a good bet. This way I can track the guard not the vehicle. Nice article.

I am in the security business for the past 3 years, and at present most of my business is automated. The app I currently use does not have this feature, but I have been told they are soon updating. It is good to know that there is good competition in the app market and the app developers are keeping up with the need of their clients.

Lots of good advice here. I appreciate how clearly you explained that feature caters to the needs of the security company and the clients. And good to know that it does not compromise on the privacy of the guards otherwise it may attract legal issues.

I was actually talking with a client the other day and he brought the issue of not able to see the position of the clients on-site. I was searching for a solution to resolve the issue. Guess a GPS tour monitoring system is what I need. Thanks a ton Cameron for writing this at the right time.

The security guard’s safety is as important as safeguarding the client’s property. There is no doubt about this fact, and GPS tracking provides a reliable way to do precisely that.
