Modern guard tour system do much more than let supervisors and clients review what a guard did during their shift after the patrol has been completed. By enabling real-time tracking, these systems can dramatically improve efficiency and accountability.

Assigning more security guards to the post site is one of the best ways to deal with the physical security threat. But, the future stands uncertain, and one cannot be sure to utilize every resource at hand for a single site unless completely necessary.

Security threats and physical security threats are a part of life, but this doesn’t mean you have to constantly live in fear of them. But, always be aware of the people around you and the interactions you have. Putting in a little extra effort to be more conscious of these things is one of the easiest ways to battle assault.

Unquestionably you’re right about that, Hewitt. But, a good strategy also includes conducting risk analysis at least on an annual basis.

A very valid point Mcmillan. Organizations often do not consider the importance of their security system until it has already been breached, resulting in frustrating losses and a lot of unanswered questions.

A security guard to perform their best, they should learn the ins and outs of the setting. It can be done walking the patrol routes on quieter periods to familiarize themselves with any obstructions, stairways, doors & exits, and safety hazards. All of these affect how a security guard moves through the setting in an emergency situation. So, one should also keep on top of any structural changes that take place.
